Regression Diagnostics and Model buidling in Stata

Would you like to be able to construct a regression model in Stata, test whether or not it is robust to a range of potential failures and interpret and apply its output? Or perhaps you are interested in making the transition from SPSS to Stata? If you find either of these objectives appealing then this is the course for you!

Course Summary:

This four-day training course taught by Ms Ellie Bates and Professor Gwilym Pryce from the University of Glasgow provided a thorough introduction to regression failures, diagnostic testing, estimation solutions and model building in Stata. No prior knowledge of Stata was required.

Course Details:

The course was run over four days. The course was taught using an integrated teaching approach comprising lectures interspersed with Stata demonstrations and hands-on exercises. The following topics were covered during the course:

  • Introduction to Stata
  • Statistical Inference
  • Correlation and Regression
  • Prediction and ANOVA
  • Non-linearities
  • F-Tests
  • Omitted Variables and Measurement Errors
  • Heteroscedasticity
  • Multicolinearity
  • Principles of Good Model Building
