What Scotland Thinks
This website provides impartial, up-to-date information on public attitudes to Scottish independence. It is run by ScotCen Social Research with funding from the ESRC.

National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM)
The NCRM forms part of the ESRC's strategy to improve the standards of research methods across the UK social science community.
Scottish Centre for Social Research (ScotCen)
ScotCen is a not-for-profit organisation registered as a charity. ScotCen conducts research across the whole of Scotland in a wide range of policy areas including health, education and crime.
Administrative Data Liaison Service (ADLS)
A service which supports administrative data research in the UK. The service is managed by the University of St Andrews, in conjunction with the Universities of Oxford and Manchester.
Office for National Statistics
The UK's largest independent producer of official statistics and the recognised national statistical institute of the UK.
Scottish Longitudinal Study Development and Support Unit
The Scottish Longitudinal Study (SLS) is a large-scale linkage study created using data from administrative and statistical sources. These include: census data from 1991 onwards; vital events data (births, deaths, marriages); NHS Central Register data (gives information on migration into or out of Scotland); and education data (including Schools Census and SQA data).
The Census & Administrative data Longitudinal Studies Hub has been commissioned by the ESRC to co-ordinate, harmonise and promote the work of the three LS Research Support Units, with the aim of providing a more streamlined experience for users. CALLS Hub is funded for an initial five year period from 2012-2017. It is a collaboration between the University of St Andrews and University College London.
UK Data Archive
Curator of the largest collection of digital data in the social sciences and humanities in the UK.
Wales Institute of Social and Economic Research, Data and Methods (WISERD)
An interdisciplinary social science research centre, with its administrative base at Cardiff University. Its aim is to draw together and build upon the exisiting expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods and methodologies.

A group established by journalists and statisticians to improve the understanding and use of statistics.
UK Data Service
The UK Data Service website provides a unified point of access to more than 6,000 collections of high quality social and economic data, including UK Census data, government-funded surveys, longitudinal studies, international macrodata, qualitative data and business microdata.
University of Edinburgh Data Library
A collection of web-based data sources, arranged and annotated according to subject.
ScotStat is a network for users and providers of Scottish Official Statistics. It aims to improve communication amongst those interested in particular statistics and facilitate the setting up of working groups on specific statistical issues.
Consortium for the Advancement of Undergraduate Statistics Education (CAUSE)
Arising from a strategic initiative of the American Statistical Association, CAUSE is a national organization whose mission is to support and advance undergraduate statistics education, in four target areas: resources, professional development, outreach, and research.
